Heavenly Father answers prayers, every single time...

April 23, 2016

Hi Everyone!:D

Sad news, I'm getting transferred.......again:( We found out last night instead of this morning because me and Sister Greenhalgh both are getting transferred. Were both really sad about it, and it surprised us both. Our mission president seemed impressed with our area and the work we've been doing and even our zone leaders were super surprised. I guess Heavenly Father needs me somewhere else:) Even though I wasn't here very long, I'm grateful that I was given the opportunity to serve here. I've met wonderful people and made some close friends. My testimony has grown and I've learned even more about my Savior and his love for us. Mom, just to let you know I found my mini quad. I left it at a investigator's house and he gave it back to me a few days ago :D Just another testimony builder to me that Heavenly Father answers prayers, every single time:D

Anyway's love ya'll and I'll let you know next week how this week goes! Sorry my email is so short!

Love, Sister Keables

P.S. Forgot to put this in the weekly email:)

LOVE this quote! It's been helping me be ok with me getting transferred.

"It takes a lot of Faith to put everything you have on the altar of God, trust in him, and know that His plan is better for you than the plan you have mapped out for yourself"

I got to try crawfish...

April 16, 2016

Hi Ya'll (I know i start my email the same way every week),
So this we had an opportunity to paint a few people's houses! It took us about two hours, and Sister Greenhalgh by far had the most paint on her:D  We had a great time and later that evening they fed all the volunteers. They had a local band come and play some of their songs. I got to try crawfish again, and it was ok.  If they had been more seasoned and spicy they probably would have been a lot better.
I also had shrimp for lunch because a member had us over and made some really good food! Dad, you would be so proud of me  :D
I almost forgot, this last Saturday we went and saw a less active named Sister Lindsey and talked to her about the Sacrament and coming to church. The lesson went well, I don't know why, but we seemed to have really good insight when we see her. Yesterday, five minutes before church started, we saw Sister Lindsey come in, and we were so happy!! She only stayed for the first hour, but that's ok because it's the most important. And that's the first time she's been to church in at least 4 in a half months! :D
Anyways, love ya'll and sorry for the really short email!
Love, Sister Keables!
PS. Daniel's home! What?! Please tell him to email me!

Overall, we taught around 40 lessons...

Happy Mothers Day!!!!!

It was so good to talk to ya'll yesterday! And it was so fun to see all of the nieces and nephews. They were all adorable and all so grown up! I'm glad ya'll enjoyed the package, and I'm sorry I couldn't send something for everyone.  :(

Highlights from the week:

This last Saturday we went to downtown Skreveport and with washable chalk to draw out the Plan Of Salvation. While we were drawing it, a lot of people stopped to watch us and seemed really curious as to what we were drawing. When we finished, people started walking up to us asking what it was we had drawn on the pavement. To each person who asked, we walked to through the plan with them and taught them what it all meant. After awhile, we started walking up to people asking if they had two minutes that we could walk them through the Plan Of Salvation. Me and Sister Greenhalgh did it all separately so that we could talk to and teach more people. Over all, we taught around 40 lessons  and each were about 2-5 minutes long. It was sooo fun! Although some people tried to pinch and kiss my cheek, give Sister Greenhalgh a hug and/or take her home, and take us to the club, we found others who were actually interested in what we had to share. We gave lots of cards and plan pamphlets and several people who said they would be interested in missionaries coming over. By the end of it we were exhausted, just a little sunburnt, and very happy with how our morning had gone. We plan on doing it again soon, but next time it might the Restoration or gospel.

After calling ya'll yesterday me and Sister Greenhalgh spent the rest of the day heart attacking single women in our ward. It was super fun, and I hope it made some of the lady's day in the ward :D It's so weird that the next time I see you it will be in person!  Anyways, that's pretty much our week, and I'll talk to ya'll next Monday!:D

We're fixin' to go and get some food...

May 2, 2016

Hi Ya'll!

First off thank you for the pictures! The Provo City temple is beautiful!:D How old is Indie now? Just from the Pictures she looks sooo cute! We need to go to Women's Conference next year!

Daniel is coming home May 12th?! What the freak of nature? That's so weird that he's coming home, I feel like he just left! It is crazy how fast time goes by! Guess what's even weirder in 9 days I'll have 4 in half months left!

Yesterday we saw a less-active named Sister Pett. She is soo cute!! We had seen her a week ago, and this visit she had told us she was going to feed us. We were super excited until we found out that a active single lady in our ward had signed up to feed us as well. So yesterday we got fed twice, which doesn't normaly happen. Sister Gilbert, the active member that was feeding us made some super good food, and I couldn't help but stuff myself because it was so good!  When we left, we were literally praying that Sister Pett had forgotten she was feeding us lol I never thought I would ever pray for that :D  We got there and knocked on her door, and at first it seemed like she wasn't there. She did answer though, and she seemed really tired. My first thought was "Yes, she's seems way too tired to have to cook for us!" I spoke or thought that too soon..... we were only in there for about 5-7 minutes and she asked if we were ready to eat. Sister Pett made us ribbs and potato salad......I love food:D We spent a while there and shared some good laughs, mostly because Sister Pett is hilarous and so cute and sweet! Quotes from her "Treat, my butt" Talking about her dog when he wanted a treat at 3am. "No eye sucking" She's talking about Crawfish lol

Last week we went to nursing home and there was a little old man preaching to the rest of the old people. We passed through later and there was a black lady singing. The song went something like this "Say, amen. Let me hear ya'll say amen" I love the south!:D

Only 5 more days till Mother's Day! :D I can't wait to talk to ya'll! I wish everyone could be home so it would be easiler to talk to all ya'll! Mom, thank you for being an incredible, wonderful, amazing, saintly, and the best mom a daughter could ask for. I owe so much to you, and I am so grateful for what you taught me growing up. You molded me into who I am and have always been an example to me. You and dad taught me the gospel through words, actions, and example. Thank you for your testimony and your faith :D I would write for longer but I'm out of time :( We're Fixing to go get some food!:D

Love ya'll!
Sister Keables

Christ is ALWAYS there for us...

April 25, 2016

Hey Everyone!
So this week was a fun and interesting week. Monday we went to the boardwalk, which is where some of these pictures are from. We had a lot of fun especially me because I'm not used to going to stores or having lots to do on Mondays. Shreveport is the biggest city in our mission, and I am not looking forward to driving in a big city!
Ok, so highlights from the week: A few days ago we saw one of our less-actives named Sister Lindsey and we taught she the Restoration. We had asked her early that week if we could practice the lessons on her and she said yes. Anyways, a little more than halfway through, she started to get teary-eyed after we testified of the Restoration, and the Spirit was very strong. We had no part in teaching that, it was all the Spirit. We started talking about the promises we make at baptism, and me and Sister Greenhalgh both
felt impressed to talk about the Sacrament. Sister Lindsey really opened up to us and said that she really missed the Sacrament. She told us a few other personal things, and why she hasn't been coming to church. We reassured her and testified of Jesus Christ and his love for us. We talked about how the Savior isn't waiting for us to be perfect; he doesn't just love us after we changed but will always love us and beckon us to him. That's one of the many things I've learned. No matter what we do, say or how broken, ashamed or guilty we feel Christ is ALWAYS there for us. There is peace and joy in turning to him. Every week I look forward to the Sacrament because I know we can feel peace, joy, and comfort. And sometimes life is really hard, sometimes we feel like were fighting our battles alone and we can't keep going. But each week we can renew our promises with him and we get a chance to receive strength and try one more time. Christ loves us as we are, his love is perfect, eternal, infinite, and real. And I am beyond grateful for his love in my life:D Towards the end of the lesson, we asked Sister Lindsey to pray for the strength to come to church and overcome the things she was struggling with. Through her tears, she prayed and asked Heavenly Father for help and courage to come to church. It was a great lesson all thanks to spirit!:D #WeAreNEVERAlone!:D
Also last week sometime, we set one of our investigators with a baptism date for May 21. Her Name is Miss Lee, and it was an amazing lesson! The Spirit was really strong, and again it was all the Holy Ghost:D There were a few questions the Spirit asked through us, and it was so cool to see how the message touched her heart and taught her. I would give ya'll more detail, but I have to go, but love ya'll and remember to keep the Lord 1st!:D

P.S. Tell Brandon happy birthday for me!

Love, Sister Keables
